History of Gloriosa

Gloriosa is a native of tropical Africa and is found growing naturally in Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Mynamar.

The genus name 'gloriosa' comes from the latin word that means 'glorious'. They are members of the Liliaceae family that includes all lilies, hyacinths and tulips.

Other common names for Gloriosa include Glory Lily, Climbing Lily, Flame Lily and Tiger's Claw.
