Light: Orchids require plenty of light, but keep them away from direct sunlight. Orchids should have bright green leaves. Dark leaves may indicate insufficient light.

Temperature: Fluctuating temperatures can cause bud drop on plants with buds ready to open. Keep them between 60F and 85F. Ventillation and circulation of fresh air is important to prevent rot.

Water: Keep soil moderately moist, but the plant may be allowed to dry out slightly. Always remove surplus seepage water. Humidity is important for Orchids (50-80%). Water only in the morning, so that the leaves dry by nightfall, to prevent rot.

Fertilizer: Use an orchid fertilizer to promote blooming. Follow the instructions on the label.
